Was Tameka’s Secret Surgery Behind Usher Filing Divorce Papers?
For weeks now there has been speculation that Grammy winning superstar Usher was close to filing divorce. Today, In Touch Weekly sources say the “Here I Stand” star has filed for divorce in Atlanta !
“Usher’s primary concern is for his (two) children, he is a great father and just wants to do what is right for them,” an insider told the magazine.
Claiming Usher has been living “apart from his wife for nearly a year,” In Touch’s source says the singer has numerous reasons for stepping away from his wife of two years — Tameka Foster Raymond. One of those reasons could be Raymond’s decision to travel to Brazil for what turned out to be a near fatal cosmetic procedure.
“(he) had no idea that she was there to have surgery,” the source claims.
There has to be more to this story. It has to be more than just that considering if she was doing the surgery, it was probably to try to stay looking young for him. Sure he may have been ticked about her doing it without his knowledge, but that’s not enough to make someone leave the mother of his children.

TIP AKA T.I. sentenced to 1 year, 1 day, but will likely be 10 months
A federal judge approved a plea deal Friday that will likely put Atlanta rapper T.I. in prison for a little less than 10 months for trying to buy machine guns and ammo from undercover agents in 2007.
U.S. District Court Judge Charles Pannell sentenced T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., to one year and one day under a negotiated plea. But the deal qualifies T.I. for credits likely to cut the sentence to about 298 days.

Gucci Mane and Mya Harrison, a couple now or just a hookup?

Going around the net you see some interesting things. The one I saw was from pics at the concert for Gucci Mane after he was released from the joint. Check out what I found at Twana Tells, Gucci Mane and Mya Harrison is some interesting pics together. This to me looks like 2 people who was at a party together and took some pics, or maybe a one night drink and hookup. But I know Gucci ain’t had none in some time, so I don’t blame him for trying to do the do with one Ms. Harrison. Let the rumors begin to fly!

When you put enough “Pressure” on ‘em…”Something’s Gotta Give
After a three year feud of not speaking, subliminal and overt insults and an alleged physical confrontation, Outkast‘s Big Boi and his former artist Killer Mike have reconciled. Atlanta’s Maurice G. Garland, reported on the meeting firsthand. It seems both artists were encouraged to resolve the simmering conflict at the urging of close family members and a nasty bout of Atlanta weather.
“A bad storm hit Atlanta and knocked the power out over a large portion of the city, including the studio where Mike planned to record [another 'Sunday Morning Massacre'],” writes Garland. “Big Boi‘s uncle Darnell and Bear were encouraging Big to peace things up once and for all.” Big‘s son Cross provided the additional prodding to bring Killer Mike and his father together after both men initially attempted to hide their strained relationship from their children. Later, both men spoke on the phone to resolve all of their underlying issues, and later met at an event yesterday, where the following photo was taken.
Sometimes grown men should look thru the eyes of a child to see the bigger picture. In saying this I mean it took big boi’s son to question his beef with killer mike for them to end the war of words between them. I am glad that this beef is squashed. I ve always been an outkast fan and am a huge fan of killer mikes music and thought it was a shame for them to part ways. but hey killer found his biz saavy and came into his own and developed a loyal fanbase outside of Outkast ‘pledge allegiance to the grind’ is crazy. if you havent heard that u need to get on that asap. and i do anticipate some heat from big boi. maybe we can get a grind time purple ribbon collabo you know shoot for another grammy.

Cee-Lo, Versatile Atlanta singer thinks outside the box
VOCALIST CEE-LO remains one of Atlanta’s more successful recent musical sons. As half of alternative R&B duo Gnarls Barkley (producer and multi-instrumentalist Danger Mouse is the other), his career hit stratospheric heights in 2006 with the band’s platinum-selling debut and its No. 1 single “Crazy.”
The band’s sophomore release, “The Odd Couple,” has yet to strike the same chord. But that’s fine with Cee-Lo, who says the act’s rectitude stays on track. In the meantime, he’s too busy to care with a world tour, an impending solo album and an upcoming reunion with rap outfit Goodie Mob on the horizon.

Atlanta Hawks spokesman says Phillips Arena apparently OK after storm
Atlanta Hawks spokesman Arthur Triche said Philips Arena apparently sustained little damage from the severe windstorm that hit downtown Atlanta on Friday night.
Inside the arena, there were no immediate signs of fallen debris, but small pieces from a ceiling tile landed on the Hawks’ practice court.
“From what I hear, we’re OK,” Triche said after the Hawks’ win over the Los Angeles Clippers. “They’re checking the roof right now in one corner, but everything looks fine so far.”
The Hawks were playing the Los Angeles Clippers in the fourth quarter when the storm tore a hole in the roof at the Georgia Dome, which is located in the same complex as Philips and less than a half-mile from the arena.
During the Hawks’ game, arena officials made no public announcements about the storm.
At the dome, Southeastern Conference officials stopped the next-to-last game of the night in the men’s basketball tournament, but play later resumed in Mississippi State’s overtime win over Alabama.

Rapper Yung Joc skips arraignment for gun charge
Yung Joc isn’t goin’ down without a fight.
The Atlanta-based rapper failed to show up at Cleveland Municipal Court for his arraignment Wednesday on a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon.

The rapper’s attorney, Stanley Jackson, Jr., apologized and explained his client was out of town on personal and family business but stressed that he was maintaining his innocence.

Ludacris denies infringing Kanye West song
NEW YORK — Kanye West gave a lesson in hip-hop to federal judge Thursday as he testified at a copyright infringement trial that a 2003 tune he worked on was nothing like a not-so-successful New Jersey group’s song.
During West’s testimony, U.S. District Judge Kevin Castel asked him to say the first two lines of “Stand Up.” West created the beat and opening two lines of the song, and Ludacris finished it.
West hesitated but finally blurted out a line laced with a harsh profanity that struck the judge as out of place in the dignified Manhattan courtroom.
“I’m sorry I asked,” the blushing judge said with a chuckle as nearly everyone in the courtroom, including the jurors, laughed out loud. “I think I’m going to withdraw my question.”
West, who has won six Grammy Awards for his two multiplatinum albums, “The College Dropout” and “Late Registration,” told the court that it was not unusual that “Stand Up” and “Straight Like That” by the East Orange, N.J., group I.O.F. would both repeatedly use the words “like that.”
“There’s a lot of rap songs that say, ‘like that,’ ‘yo, what’s up?’ or ‘throw your hands high,’” he said. “Whatever people say in the ‘hood, it ends up on records. That’s what hip-hop does.”
Earlier in the day, Ludacris, whose real name is Chris Bridges, testified that he had never heard the expression “straight like that” or the song by that title until he was sued. He said he had used “like that” in a 1999 song.
“I never heard anyone use the term,” Ludacris told lawyer Mel Sachs.
Sachs said the words “like that” were repeated more than 80 times in each song. Ludacris testified that he believes the words are repeated fewer than 80 times in his song.
Ludacris has been praised for his music and his acting roles as Anthony in the Oscar-winning “Crash” and as Skinny Black in “Hustle and Flow.”
A lawyer for the rappers and EMI April Music Inc., Christine Lepera, has asked the jury to reject the claims of BMS Entertainment/Heat Music LLC. The trial is to determine liability. If liability is found, a second phase of the trial will assess damages.
“Straight Like That” never made it beyond some air time on college radio after copies of it were released in September 2001. “Stand Up” was released in the fall of 2003 on Ludacris’ album “Chicken and Beer,” and became a huge hit.
